It’s not often a record is both experimental and soothing. Yet Nausea by Craft Spells is just that. Unlikely instruments are woven together in this innovative album. Laid-back vocals are accompanied by drums, electric guitar, and layers of synths. A few songs include violin sounds, creating a beautiful underlying resonance. The song “Konorebi” embodies peace through an unusual combination of violin and drums. Another track, “Twirl”, accurately reflects its name through upbeat and electronic synth sounds. Tying all songs together is a calm, collected sound. Nausea is somehow upbeat yet calming and is the perfect feel-good album.
